We named this new jacket after the Jackie Robinson Parkway, an 80-year-old, five-mile-long stretch of patched-over pavement that winds its way from the eastern edge of Brooklyn to the heart of Queens. Formerly called the Interborough Parkway and known to some as the Queens Autobahn, this narrow thoroughfare is often thronged with bigger and faster cars than what it was originally designed for. And even during the odd hours when it’s clear of traffic, its blind curves and crumbling road surface make it one of the most dangerous roads in the city.
The new Robinson jacket is built to handle the roughest road in New York—or any city street—with confidence and class.
